Series Summary
Many people come to the Bible like an instructional manual or book of “to-do’s” or try to find a perfect group of heroes to emulate. However, in just the first few pages, we encounter brokenness, blunders and breakdowns. We quickly realise that the Scriptures are full of What Not To Do examples. This short series of messages explores some of the most significant blunders, botch-ups, and moments of brokenness in Scripture—decisions that led to disaster but ultimately point us to Jesus.
Here is a little detail about our upcoming series, “Last Words on death row”. We may never know when a particular conversation may be the last one. Movies often portray a person’s last words as profound, coherent, and perfectly timed. In reality, many people are unable to speak in their final moments due to pain, medication, or coma. It is believed that on their deathbed, people are “unfiltered” and honest, leaving behind the pretenses of life to focus on what actually mattered. This series will look at the last words spoken by a few different people in the New Testament, starting and ending with Jesus’ last words.
